 
or many months early in 2007 I had been working closely with an Asian company to have my mascot produced as an "urban vinyl" figure. After depositing a lot of money and exchanging many emails back n' forth with sculpting revisions, I got all the way to the final prototype stage. I was just about to send them the final down payment when they dropped the bomb on me. The mold maker informed the sculptor that he would not be able to produce him the way we had him sculpted. For the life of me, I don't know why the sculptor didn't check with the mold maker before we got too far, but there you go.
I did get to keep the prototype - which is both nice to have - because it's incredibly cool and sad to have as well - as it's a constant reminder of what could have been. Oh well. Perhaps I'll give it another try later with a different sculpting approach. In the mean time, enjoy these pix of it's progress and final prototype:
