FoilFoil is a very hot and popular technique these days with the "kids". A sheet of specially made foil is literally heat pressed on to a printed area of the shirt and is then peeled off. The foil sticks only to the area with ink, and no where else. The effect is an incredibly shiny image. Another interesting effect can be achieved by printing parts of your image with water based ink and the other parts with plastisol ink. Since the foil will only stick to the plastisol inked area - you get an image that is part colored ink and part foil. Though it's suggested that you turn your garment inside-out when washing, we have washed many of our foiled shirts without doing that and have not had any noticeable wear to them what-so-ever. |
